I Want To Get My Brain Mapped

If you like, you can begin by watching this two-part video about brain mapping. If you are already familiar with the videos you can skip down the a different question and answer.

I Don't Really Know What Brain Training Is All About?

This short video will explain how we use neurofeedback to train the brain.

I have heard or read about something called "Neuroplasticity," what is that?

Does Getting My Brain Mapped Hurt?

ABSOLUTELY NOT! This is a non-invasive procedure. That means that we are not going to poke or stick you with a needle or even make you scream out in pain.

Steps For Getting A Brain Map:

  1. First we put an elastic cap with 19-electrodes on your head.
  2. We do use a blunt needle to inject the conductive gel through a hole in the electrode onto the surface of your scalp. It does not hurt or is painful, it is a "gooey" sensation as the gel makes contact with your scalp.
  3. The gel does get your hair gooey but it dissolves in water and you can wash, dry and comb your hair before you head out the door.
  4. We will usually take three recordings: a) Sitting quietly while we record with your eyes open for a few minutes. b)  Sitting quietly while we record with your eyes closed. c) We put your brain "on task," usually reading silently a book or magazine. d) If you are being brain mapped for meditation we will do an extra recording while you are meditating. e) Sometimes we may do a special recording. For example, if a person is having difficulty with math we will record some brainwave activity while doing math problems.
  5. Once the recording of your brainwave activity has been completed we will begin processing your brainwave activity into a brain map report.

What Happens At The Consultation?

A lot of information is covered in the consultation. That is why it is recorded, both audio and video. This way you can have the recording and go back over what was discussed.

A copy of all the reports shown and discussed in the consultation are included in a link emailed to you so you can download the reports and the recorded consultation.

Recommendations for improving the areas that need work will be presented and discussed. After that, it is up to you as to what you do with the information. There is no pressure to do more. We are here to provide scientific valid measures using over 20-years of expertise to provide an accurate interpretation.

How Do I Get Started With Brain Training?

After the consultation if you need more time to consider your next step or need to confer with a family member about the next step you may take all the time you need for consideration. Just remember, the results of the brain map is only valid for 6-months.

Going forward to pursue brain training is very easy. At the time of the consultation the financial options will be discussed. Once you have made your decision to go forward it is only a matter of scheduling.

In most cases it is recommended that you do the brain training at a frequent interval, usually 2-times per week. It is recommended that there be a day in between sessions. It is a bit like working your muscles at the gym. It is best to have a day in between to let the dendrites in the brain begin to form the new neuropathways. If you missed watching the video on Neuroplasticity, there is a link to it on this page.

One of the reasons that some people are less successful at achieving their desired goal is usually extended gaps between brain training sessions.

For example, if you went on vacation for a week there would be no problem for your brain to pick up right where you left off. If you were away from your brain training for 2-weeks it would take a couple of sessions to  get the brain moving again in the direction you are encouraging it to change. Basically, the longer the gap in the training the more sessions you will use up trying to move forward. When people have several gaps in their brain training that is usually why they feel it is not working, and they are right.

Therefore it is important that should you decide that you want to do brain training we encourage you to make a personal commitment to adjust your life and schedule so that you can achieve your desired outcome.

We have a very high success rate when people follow the program outlined for them. We have been doing this work for over 20-years and have not only seen a thing or two but we have learned a thing or two about how the brain responds to getting rewired during brain training.

There are longevity studies that have tracked people's brain training effects going back 30-40 years. These studies show that once the training is completed that your brain will continue to use the new neuropathways it has created. Because of neuroplasticity you can train your brain to higher states of performance and into higher states of consciousness.
